Rooms to Love

Book design

Hand-drawn type & a lighthearted approach to colour bring Penguin NZ's latest interior design coffee table book to life.

Hardhat were invited by Penguin Books to art direct and design this second book from interior stylist LeeAnn Yare & photographer Larnie Nicolson.

"A must-have for anyone seeking to transform their home into something more stylish, Rooms to Love is packed with ideas and inspiration for every room and every budget, along with images from homes we have visited and loved and tips on how to recreate the looks in your own home." – LeeAnn & Larnie

Having previously worked closely with both LeeAnn and Penguin Books, we were in a perfect position to translate LeeAnne & Larnie's style to the pages (and cover) of their latest collaboration, through a liberal use of bright but organic color-blocking across internal spreads, strong pattern work for the end-pages, and some of our signature hand-drawn work (titling, pull-quotes and background graphics).

Our vision has helped bring the interiors of these beautiful homes to life in a fun & lighthearted way, giving readers an experience that inspires and encourages them to – in LeeAnn's words – "get in there and give it a go, sideboard by sideboard, or room by room".
